BzzAgent

I recieved quite a bit of questions regarding BzzAgent. Anyways, my deal-loving and cheap boyfriend told me about BzzAgent about a little less than a year ago. He got this Sonicare expensive toothbrush and it prompted me to sign up! This is only avaliable to US and Canada residents.

This is directly from their website:

The Founding of BzzAgent
In late 2001, BzzAgent founder and CEO Dave Balter realized that marketers weren’t harnessing the power of word of mouth (WOM). His vision was to create a platform that would allow people to experience new products and services, share their honest opinions about them with people they knew and report those activities and opinions so marketers could directly see the results. This community would be something entirely new, bringing consumers and marketers together to organize and track honest word of mouth.
With this idea in mind, BzzAgent was born. Together with Rick Pascocello, a publisher at the Penguin Group, they developed the first ever BzzCampaign program for a book called The Frog King.

A quick synopsis:

Once you have created a username and password, you have to take a whole bunch of surveys – why? So that Bzzagent can cater products that meets their target market – which could be you! If you think about it, the more interests you select, the higher the chance you will get more products (get involved in what they call “campaigns”. I have to admit that the surveys are very lengthy, but you don’t have to them all in one sitting. Also, when you fill out surveys, I believe it increases your participation score.

If BzzAgent finds a product match for you, they will send you an email to invite you to join the campaign. Most of the campaigns are free, some you have to pay – but you don’t have to join if you don’t want to. If I don’t want them, I just ignore their emails. Their products can be anything from full size beauty products to cleaning products. If you decide to join the campaign, all you do is confirm your mailing address and wait a couple days to a week for your package!

Once you recieve your package, they have instructions on the product itself and a bzzguide. After you test their product, you can submit a report on how you spread the news about their product. They will give you points for this. The more reports you make, the more points you earn. You can then redeem these points for prizes, but lately, I notice that you can donate your points to one of their charities. I periodically log into my account every couple of weeks to see if there are any new surveys to take.

Here’s some of the free stuff I recieved:

- 5 Gum – I got so many packs of this gum

- Listerine Whitening Strips – I had enough to use for myself for about 3 weeks

- Sonicare Electric Toothbrush with UV Sanitizer – I love this and still using it! This was worth over $100

- TV Guide Magazine

- 2 Free Horizon milk coupons

- 4 Free coupons to new Chili’s burgers

- Clean & Clear SOFT In-Shower Facial and Moisturizer

SPA WEEK – APRIL 14-20, 2008

Hello my fellow readers,

Just wanted to let you know that Spa Week is coming! And they are taking reservations…NOW! Spa week is a week where spas nationwide give a promotional $50 treatments for the entire week. These treatments range from facials, microdebrasion to full body massages. Each treatment is at least 45 mintues long. Originially, most of these treatments cost about two or three times the promotional price. The spas that hosts spa weeks are reputable spas. This is probably the only time I will go to a spa, because I’m too dang cheap!

For more info: http://www.spaweek.org – this should give you a list of spas that are participating in this event in your area.

As soon as I got my email about spaweek, I contacted my girlfriends and we already made an appointment to get full body massages! Their page is super slow to load, due to heavy traffic. Several spas that I called already, their lines are super busy and I was on hold for awhile.

This is a perfect time to pamper yourself, actually try out a spa or have a girls day out…=)

"Green" Products test positive for toxicant

I came across this interesting article from the LA Times that natural organic products aren’t really as safe as they really seem.

http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-natural14mar14,0,1670638.story?page=1

I know a couple people that are extremely narrowminded who think that natural or organic products are better for you. Hopefully, this will be a wakeup call for them.

Here’s a sypnosis:

- 100 products of natural or organic soaps, shampoos and other personal care products were tested for 1,4-dioxane, a probable human carcinogen – these include well-known brands such as Alba and Kiss My Face Products

- Luckily, Burt Bee’s and Desert Essence passed the test

And to think organic means that it’s that much better…This is just food for thought…

On a side note, Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Clean & Clear SOFT

I got my bzzagent kit today! Woo-hoo!! And it contains 2 NEW FULL-SIZE Clean & Clear products. For those that don’t know what bzzagent is, it’s basically this website where you sign up and you can try out new products before or when they hit the shelves. It’s word of mouth or “buzz” marketing. I love being a bzzagent, because you get free good stuff – not junky stuff in the mail. One time I got a free Sonicare Electric toothbrush and recently 4 coupons for Chili’s new burgers. Shameless plug -for more info visit: bzzagent.com

Anywho, bzzagent invited me to join this Clean & Clear campaign and I couldn’t resist. Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of Clean & Clear, but I will not turn down free beauty products =). My kit came in this box, it contains: brochere containing information on the products, cosmetic bag, STEAM- an in shower facial and DAY – an oil free moisturizer.

Here are some up close photos:

SOFT Day Oil Free Moisturizer with SPF 15 – softens and protects while keeping pores clear. I might give this a try, I don’t know. I have extremely sensitive skin and afraid of breakouts. What I do like about this is that it does contain sunscreen.

SOFT In-Shower Facial – works with steam of your shower to detoxify your skin and deep clean. I am definitely looking forward to trying this out! The instructions say that you have to apply it in the shower for a minute and then massage it before rinsing off your face. This looks promising, but I’ll see.

I’m going to try these products over the weekend and see what happens!
