Passport to Beauty - Tips for Europe and Asia
As promised, I’m going to list several beauty tips from the book that I found very useful and interesting. There are actually a lot more tips in the book, but I’m only listing the good ones to me..hehe. I notice that lot of products mentioned in the books are stuff we can find in our local beauty store or market, such as various oils and are great alternatives than buying expensive products!

Tips from Europe
- Eye makeup remover>> Almond Oil as a makeup remover - this delicately removes eyemakeup, while hydrating your eye area (I might give this a try)
- Lash growth >> Castor Oil - when applied to lashes it can stimulate and strengthen lash growth. ( A bottle a CVS costs about $3)
- Lip softener >> The Polish use Honey, yes honey…to soften their lips. It acts as a humectant and draws moisture from the air…Grab that honey bottle from your kitchen and give it a try!
- Burned skin?? >> Instead of reaching for that bottle of aloe vera, why don’t you try sour cream? lol….that’s what the Russians do. Okay…I found this a little weird, but if you dont’ have aloe vera….you can try this??
- Less makeup is more >> Heavy makeup can look too fake…so to make it more natural…apply foundation first and then follow up with concealer in necessary ( I admit that I use this technique and it makes me look less cakey and I get my makeup done faster!)

Tips from Asia
- Having problem sleeping?? >> In the Middle East, women place a bowl of Jasmine potpourri next to their bed. This is suppose to reduce anxiety and relax you. (I might give this a try, sounds cheap and at least my room will smell good!)
- Instant Face Brightener >> Mix 1 egg yolk and 2 tablespoons of sugar in a circular motion. A secret to radiant skin from flight attendants from Singapore Airlines
- Strengthening thinning hair >> Indians use coconut oil to help strengthen and get shiny hair. It’s considered one of the riches oils in the world and is great for stimulating hair growth, repairing split ends and strengthen hair altogether. (This sounds really promising, but it might be a little too oily for my thin hair).
Okay, that’s it for now….later on in the week…I’ll share US beauty tips and Australia….=)

i aleady use oil as a makeup remover, and it’s just whatever natural oil i have readily available. lately it’s camellia oil.
i do the honey thing too, and i have honey in most of my skin care products. you can also do a honey face wash and use honey in face masks.
i’ve also heard about the castor oil for the lashes… but never tried it cause i’m too lazy. hahaha.

if you have blonde highlights or blonde/gold hair, you should get the purple shampoo. i know sally’s beauty supply sells it. it’s called shimmerlights, i believe. if you go to a salon that sells matrix, it’ll be called so silver. that will help take out the brassy tones! it helps a lot! if you find that your highlights keep getting toooooo light, i know matrix has a product called prizms. it’s not a shampoo. it’s like a gel you put in your hair but it’s colored. it’s supposed to tone your hair. i’ve only used the clear color to use that as a gloss in my hair. that was when my hair was dark, though. my friend used one and she liked it! i think you just put it on your hair for a few minutes and then rinse it out. it’ll tone down the highlights and put some color back to them. there are different colors to choose from.

thank you for your comment. sally’s has a lot of stuff that is a lot cheaper than the professional stuff. i never used any of the shampoos really. the only think i ever used was the shimmerlights. that really worked well! but since i did hair, i just have the pro stuff. it’s the same thing, though! i like to get the little baby eyeshadows and nail polishes. they’re tiny and cute! i get eyelashes there, too!

very informative. I’ve read about castor oil and I’ve had a bottle of it here for the longest time but I haven’t applied it to my lashes yet… Will do that, I really will.

Christiana-I’ve never tried the honey thing, for some reason it sounds like it would be incredibly sticky!
Spankedelic- Thanks for the shimmerlights advice! If I get my hair highlighted again, this is a must have.
Askmewhats- There’s plenty of new stuff that I want to try, but I’m lazy as well or don’t have enough time!
