Fight your body acne with Neutrogena Body Clear Scrub!

Summer is here, which means it’s time to pull out your summer tanks and swimsuits. However, those with body acne, this may be the time to clear them up. I highly recommend using Neutrogena’s Body Clear Body Wash/Scrub to help clear up your active body acne. I choose to use the scrub formula because of its exfoliating properties.

Active Ingredients: Salicylic Acid (2%)

REVIEW - 4 out of 5Pros:

  • It works! I tend to break out on my chest area and back when the weather starts warming up. Using this in the warmer months, has helped prevent new flareups
  • For a scrub, it’s gentle enough to use everyday and does not strip the skin!
  • It’s concentrated, I’ve had this for about a year and have 1/2 left
  • It’s inexpensive, $5 or $6

Cons:

  • Does not lather up well compared to other body washes, the scrub is pretty thick. The Body wash formula might be better at this?
  • Difficult to dispense - its best to store the bottle upside down
  • Works well with active acne, but not scars…I wish it would have helped with the scars

Would I repurchase again? DEFINITELY!

Overall, this is a great inexpensive product to help keep your body acne at bay. I definitely recommend it to everyone that has to deal with this. I admit that you have to give it some time to actually see results. So, don’t expect to see instant results.

Choosing the right flip flops

Summer is here…meaning that it’s time to do some flip flop and sandal shopping! But before we rush into this, we might want to think twice about which ones to buy.

I came across this alarming and informative article on ABC News about the potential health problems with wearing flip flops, which triggered me to create this post.

I noticed that a lot of flip flops out there are cheaply made with foam or plastic that provide no support for our feet. I’m a victim to this. I’m a flip flop type of girl. When I’m not at work, I wear flip flops everywhere….run errands, going out with friends, to the beach, etc. I used to wear inexpensive, cheap flip flops to school all time, that the end of the day my feet would hurt and get so tired!

So what time of flip flops should you buy? The article mentions that cheap flip flops that are sold at Old Navy, Target, Payless, etc. are good for short periods of time - the beach, the pool, etc. I absolutely agree with that. I admit that I’ve warned these time of flip flops for long periods of time, and my feet hated me for it. Look at the sandals below, no arch support….the soles are flat that can hurt your feet in the long run.

Whereas, if you’re like me and wear flip flops all the time, you should invest in higher quality flip flops that provide more support for your feet. Personally, I wear Rainbow Sandals, because they have arch support. There are plenty of higher quality flip flops out there that are sold in shoe stores or beach type of stores -think PacSun or surfing/beach shops.

With all this being said, let your feet be happy and healthy!

MAC California Dreamin’

I went to MAC this past weekend to redeem my FREE California Dreamin’ Lustre Lipstick with no problem. Because this is a limited edition item, it can not be returned or exchanged, I’m not complaining because it’s free! I have to admit that this is my first MAC lipstick EVER!

Swatch

Overall, this lipstick color reminded me of Malibu Barbie, hence the name California Dreamin’…a very pale, cool pink. Honestly, this lipstick is a little too pale for me and washes me out. Maybe if I apply lip gloss over it, it will look better. I do like the texture of the lipstick, it applies on smoothly and leaves my lips creamy. I’m not complaining though, because if I don’t use this….I can always return it to Back2Mac.

On Vacation!!

Hello All,

I just wanted to let you all know that I will be in the lovely state of Hawaii taking a much needed vacation and will be back at the beginning of July. I’m actually going on two islands - Oahu and Kauai. I haven’t been to Hawaii since I was in highschool, which was more than 5 years ago!

Even though I will be lying on the beach, I still have a couple scheduled posts while I’m gone. However, I won’t be checking my email. But as soon as I get back three shades darker, I will be checking my email and answering any questions/suggestions.

Aloha!
