Bad shampoo? Don’t throw it out just yet…
Ever come across a shampoo that sadly disappointed you? I have…plenty of times. Most recently, I had this issue with Pantene Pro-V shampoo – and by the way – I hate Pantene Pro-V. So what do you do with a bad shampoo? I’m assuming that you’re first instinct would be to throw it out, because obviously you are not going to use it on your hair. But don’t throw it out so fast, especially if it was expensive shampoo – because you can use your unwanted shampoo for other purposes.
New uses for my unwanted shampoo:
- Makeup brush cleanser – Mix one part shampoo to two parts water and ta-da! – a homemade cosmetic brush cleanser! However, this might not be optimal for those with acne prone skin.
- Hair brush/comb cleanser – Mix one part shampoo to one part water and use this solution to clean your hair brushes. Pantene Pro-V did any excellent job of cleaning my hair brushes and got rid of the oil build up.
- Instant bathtub bug killer – From time to time, I come across an unwanted visitor in my bath tub. Rather than screaming for someone to kill the visitor or drown it in water, a squirt of shampoo will do the trick…INSTANTLY! Trust me…this works! hehe
- Hand Soap – Depending on the type of shampoo, you can easily turn your unwanted shampoo to instant hand soap.
- Shaving cream – If your unwanted shampoo is more on the creamy side, you can use it as a shaving
So, what do you all do with all your unwanted shampoo – throw it out immediately? If anyone else has any other great tips for other uses for shampoo, please share them!

Bethesda Skincare has created the world’s first All-Natural sunscreen soap with Multi-Vitamins. The Sunscreen Soap protects the skin with an invisible layer of SPF 10. Don’t forget…you’re suppose to apply sunscreen daily! And as if sunscreen wasn’t enough, 1/3 of the soap is made of vitamins and minerals with their All-One Vitamins formulation – a bar that delivers 50 vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Just to ensure that their SPF isn’t just a gimmick, it has undergone FDA testing to ensure UVB and UVA rays.
