My Spring 2009 Beauty Essentials on a Budget
Spring is in full swing and it’s time to store away your dark Winter makeup. Spring makeup is all about looking fresh and natural. Dark and dramatic colors are out and pretty pastels are in! You don’t have to spend a fortune to update your makeup look. And if you know me, I don’t like to spend a lot of money on beauty products.
Here are my Spring 2009 Beauty Essentials and best of all, they are all under $10:
1) Mineral Foundation: Liquid foundation may look and feel a bit heavy when the weather warms up, so switching to a powder mineral foundation is a good idea. Mineral foundation is not only light, but allows your skin to breathe! My mineral foundation pick? Buff’d Minerals. Okay…this is the only product that is not under $10, it’s $14 - a cheaper price point than other mineral foundations on the market!
2) A Pretty Pink blush: A natural blush that enhances your natual skintone will not only make your skin glow, but it can instantly change your overall look. My blush pick? NYX Mosiac Powder in Dare - perfect for MAC NC35-40 skintones!

3) Sheer Lip Gloss:A sheer lip gloss with a hint of color is instant prettiness. Store away the metallic and dark opaque hues please! My sheer lip gloss pick? NYX Megashine Lipgloss in Natural - a universal color for anyone and it’s dirt cheap! I’m able to snag these for under $3 at local boutique stores.

4) Neutral and Shimmery Eye shadows: For a fresh and natural eye look, neutral browns, pastels and champagnes work best. Try to avoid dark matte eye shadows, unless it’s a night look. My spring eyeshadow pick? Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadow Quad in Wild Orchids - perfect for spring!

5) Sunblock: As the sun rays get stronger, it’s essential to protect your skin. My sunblock pick? Neutrogena Dry Touch Sunblock - it’s great for acne prone skin and does not have the typical sunblock smell.
What beauty products are you turning to this season?

Jill - Thanks for visiting! Honestly, I’m a little weary of drugstore foundation - they tend to have fillers that are not ideally skin friendly.
