e.l.f. aka Eyes Lip Face has recently launched their brand new sleek line of professional brushes.  These new anti-bacterial, synthetic haired Taklon Brushes are only priced at $3 – a price that’s affordable for everyone!

Read on for a review on these brushes…

Concealer Brush

This concealer brush has a small compact head and firm bristles.  Its compact size is great for covering up small imperfections such as blemishes and small spots.  Other than that, it’s too small for application of under eye concealer or blending.

Powder Brush

The Powder Brush is made out of synthetic hair – which is great for the application of liquid products.  This brush was quite interesting, because I never owned a synthetic powder brush.  I used this brush for the application of my MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation and it worked wonderfully.  It works great for blush too!

Angled Foundation Brush

A decent brush for liquid foundation.  However, it can tend to be a bit streaky.  Between the Powder brush and Angled foundation brush, I prefer the Powder brush for foundation application.

Contour Brush

This brush reminds me of my CVS Essence of Beauty’s crease brush.  The Contour Brush makes an excellent crease brush.  It works great in blending out the outer V for a dark eyeshadow look.  The only drawback was that it seems like the head of the brush was a bit loose.

Small Smudge Brush

The name of brush says it all – it’s perfect for smudging out freshly applied eyeliner or fill in the brows.  The brushes bristles are firm, but not firm enough for eyeliner application.

Overall, these brushes great for those on a budget or a makeup newbie.  They are fairly decent and get the job done, but unfortunately there’s nothing fantastic about them. Priced at $3, it’s definitely great for those who don’t want to splurge on expensive brushes.

Has anyone else tried e.l.f’s cosmetics brushes?
