Fabuless Beauty’s Hair Color Makeover

Before: I came into the salon with black hair with subtle highlights and no makeup (eek!). Marco Pelusi (hair colorist) suggested a hair color that would accentuate the texture of my hair (my hair is wavy) and update my look.

What’s a makeover without makeup? After getting my hair did, top makeup artist Taylor Babaian did my make up to complement my new hair color. Taylor’s vision for my overall look was to make it fun and edgy. If you all aren’t familiar with her, she is the author of Asian Faces. It only Taylor about 15 minutes for her to do my makeup. The results? A dark, dramatic smokey eye look.

After: Carmel highlights – I LOVE it! I haven’t had my hair this shade is years!
It’s funny how changing your hair color can instantly transform your entire look. My hair no longer looks monotone and flat. Instead, the highlights gives my limp hair dimension and makes my thin hair look thicker. What I also love about highlights, is that is an instant face brightener, so you don’t need to wear as much makeup.

Absolutely love the highlights! That’s how my hair colour is. I wish my hair was that length though! I just a “trim” you know the kind where the hairdresser cuts way more than a few centimeters, argh! Makeup looks so good!!

Thanks Francesca! Unfortunately, when I moved over to a new server last year, not all of my pictures transferred over. I’m still in the process of trying to retrieve them.
