My Makeup Show LA 2010 Mini Haul

While attending the Makeup Show LA the other day, I managed to pick up a couple of goodies.  The main draw were discounts and products that are hard to get a hold of.  Come on now, how can one go to a makeup show and come out empty handed?  Going in, I set myself a strict budget $50.  Yes, I know that’s a bit low, but I’m trying to cut down on my expenses.  Trust me, it was hard!

What I managed to snag:

Auraline Beauty Foundation Brush: $5

FACE atelier Ultra Foundation in #6 Honey: $27 (Makeup Show Price) - Jill recommended that I try out their foundations.  The makeup artist applied this foundation on me and oh my goodness, my skin looked flawless!  However, it does contain silicone.  Let’s see how my skin reacts after a couple of weeks.

Miss Adoro Faux Lashes: $1 each! - I couldn’t believe the price either!  These lashes remind me of Red Cherry lashes.

At the end of the day, I spent $33 (under $50). Yaay!

For those that attended Makeup Show LA, what’d you pick up?

Makeup Show LA 2010 Recap

This past Sunday, I attended the Makeup Show LA 2010.  If you aren’t familiar with the Makeup Show, the show is a huge beauty industry event.  The Makeup Show is filled with exhibitors, vendors, and education - all focused on one thing - Beauty!  Some of the vendors included Crown Brushes, Smashbox Cosmetics, Make Up For Ever, FACE atelier and more!  It’s a great way to learn new makeup application and find out about new and upcoming products.  Last year, I went for the first time and had a blast.  This time around, I had a great time, picked up a few items and saw a couple familiar faces!

InStyle and Warner Bros. Post-Golden Globe Carpet Recap

On behalf of L’Oreal Paris, I attended the InStyle and Warner Bros. Afterparty carpet at the Golden Globes exactly one week ago.  It was my first red carpet event and I was stoked!  I was situated in the Press area, where photographers and journalists were cramped behind the ropes of the carpet.  It was crazy!  Fortunately, I was able to catch a glimpse and chat with a few stars on their way to the InStyle and Warner Bros. Afterparty.  Unfortunately, cameras were not permitted.  Boo to that.

Read on for red carpet hair and makeup trends and find out what beauty products the leading ladies of Hollywood can’t live without!

Fabuless Beauty’s L’Oreal Makeover, Golden Globes Style!

I believe the best part of the Golden Globes is the preparation.  It’s all about your dress, hair and makeup.  Luckily, I had a chance to receive a makeup and hair makeover by the L’Oreal team - Golden Globes style!

Before my transformation, I asked the L’Oreal hair stylist and makeup artist trends they expect to see on the red carpet.

Hair stylist Fernando Navarro mentioned to lookout for “Loose Curls, close to the head and volume at the end.  Everything is soft, that looks undone, but done. Expect lots of texture.”

And for makeup? Makeup artist, Christine Nguyen says that she expects to see ”dramatic, smoky eyes and lighter lips - the red carpet standard!”
