During Sephora’s Friends and Family Sale, I picked up NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base.   In dire need of an eyeshadow base, Jill, my sorority sister from college recommended this to me!

Priced at $24, it is pricey!  Let’s see if it is worth it!

The Bottom Line

NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base works!  This lightweight primer glides on white, but dries clear and quickly.  NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base literally made my oily lids smudge proof.  It made my eyeshadow brighter, more vibrant and gave my overall eyeshadow a clean look.  I’ve worn this primer during work and a night out in town.  In both instances, my eyeshadow stay put!  The only downfall for this product is its applicator.  For hygienic reasons, I’m not a fan of the doe foot applicator.  It would be better if it was a tube applicator instead.

Now the real question.  Is NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base worth the $24?  It all comes down to how often you wear eyeshadow.  If you wear eyeshadow often like I do, yes, NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base is totally worth it!  But if you hardly wear eyeshadow, skip this and opt for a less expensive eyeshadow base or borrow a friends’  NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base=).

During Sephora’s Friend and Family Sale, I picked up the world-famous NARS Orgasm.   NARS Orgasm has a cult following among celebrities and beauty enthusiasts.  But priced at $26, Orgasm can be  a steep price for many.  But the question is…is it worth it?

The Bottom Line

NARS Orgasm is gorgeous!  Orgasm is a peachy-pink hue with accents of golden shimmer.  If your complexion has olive or yellow undertones, Orgasm is for you!  If your complexion is of darker skintone, Orgasm will probably be too light for you.  For reference, I’m a MAC NC35 with strong yellow undertones and Orgasm gives my complexion a warm and healthy glow.   This blush is finely milled and glides on easily onto my cheeks.  So far it’s been my everyday go-to blush!

Now it comes down to price, is it worth it? Here are my two cents:  If you wear blush often enough like I do, Orgasm is worth it.  However, if you seldom wear blush, skip it and choose a similar less expensive version of Orgasm such as Milani Luminous or MAC Springsheen.

I finally gave Karmissie’s Threader Deluxe Kit a test run.  The Threader LUX works by lifting unwanted facial hairs directly from the follicle to ensure a smooth and long-lasting removal.  Priced at $125, this threader kit does not come cheap.

This $125 Kit includes:

• Threader LUX and snap-in disposable cotton threads
• Chalk – to make the hair more visible
• Feel Less – a pre-threading lotion that numbs the skin for comfort
• The Closer – anti-inflammatory soothing lotion to be used after threading
• Instructional DVD

Let’s see if this kit is worth it!

A ‘Best of Beauty’ winner chosen by Allure editors for 9 years, top makeup artists always recommend the original, award-winning Tweezerman Slant Tweezer for expert brow shaping.  The perfectly aligned, hand-filed tips are slanted to grab every hair, every time with the smoothest, true precision.  Priced at $20, it may be a bit steep for a cosmetic tool, but is it worth it?

The Bottom Line: Tweezerman’s Slant tweezer is worth it!  While shelling out $20 may be expensive up front, it is well worth the investment.  This tweezer grabs every hair with great precision.  I have fine brow hair and this tweezer removes them in a cinch.  As an added bonus, Tweezerman offers FREE lifetime sharpening!  Therefore, the $20 price tag doesn’t seem so bad, right?
