NEW Garnier BB Cream Has Arrived!

Say Hello to the FIRST BB Cream to hit mass market retailers this February, Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector.  If you aren’t familiar with BB creams, they are a cult beauty product in Asia and widely used among Asians.  BB cream can be described as a beneficial tinted moisturizer.

BB Cream is first and foremost a skincare powerhouse touting a potent combination of 24 hour moisturizing ingredients, including Hyaluronic Acid, Lipidure Microspheres and Glycerin, plus anti-free radical ingredient Vitamin C, plus SPF 15 sun protection.  Its tinted mineral pigments provides an immediate skin perfecting benefit, without the heavier coverage of a foundation or even tinted moisturizer.

For reference, I am Asian American and surprisingly have not tried BB Cream just yet.  But priced at only $12.99, I am willing to give Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector a try!

Neutrogena Naturals Cleanser and Makeup Remover Review

I had a chance to check out Neutrogena Naturals Cleanser and Makeup Remover.  Part of Neutrogena’s NEW Naturals Line, Neutrogena Naturals Cleanser and Makeup Remover claims to completely clean skin and remove makeup in one step without stripping skin’s natural moisture.  This face wash does not contain harsh chemical sulfates, parabens, petrochemicals, dyes or phthalates.

A complete natural face wash that removes makeup? Sounds great, doesn’t it?! I have been using Neutrogena Naturals Cleanser and Makeup Remover for one week.  Let’s check out the results!

Approx. Price: $7
Where to Purchase? Mass market retailers

The Bottom Line

Neutrogena Naturals Cleanser and Makeup Remover comes in a pump dispenser and comes out in an almost cream texture.  As for scent, it reminds me of cotton candy!  With water, this face wash lathers up gently and surprisingly removes my makeup (ex. foundation and blush)!  No separate makeup remover is needed, which I find pretty awesome.  As a result, I was left with soft and clean skin.

However, I do have an issue with Neutrogena Naturals Cleanser and Makeup Remover.  Here’s my take on natural products: they are either super gentle on my skin or break me out due to its added oils.  Unfortunately, Neutrogena Naturals Cleanser and Makeup Remover broke me out in a span of a couple of days.  Initially, this face wash worked great.  But after several days, I broke out in places I normally don’t break out in (i.e. cheeks). *Sigh* Neutrogena, I really had high hopes for this product.

If only Neutrogena Naturals Cleanser and Makeup Remover is non-comedogenic, it would be perfect!

Petroleum Jelly Alternative: Waxelene Review

I finally had a chance to try out Waxelene, an eco-friendly petroleum jelly alternative that can be found at Whole Foods Market.  If you aren’t familiar with Waxelene, it is basically a multi-use product for anything you would use petroleum jelly for! Examples include elbows or knees, lips, feet, after the sun…the possibilities are endless.

Look at the cute little bee on the lid!

The Bottom Line

Does Waxelene work just as well as petroleum jelly? Yes.  What I love about Waxelene is that it contains all natural ingredients of Organic Soy Oil, Beeswax, Organic Rosemary Oil and Natural Vitamin E Oil, because I am a huge proponent of natural beauty products.  For some reason, Waxelene reminds me of an all natural version of Bag Balm.

I personally use Waxelene on my lips, hands and elbows and it really moisturizes those areas.  However, I find myself using Waxelene primarily as a lip balm.  The only real drawback that I really don’t like dipping my fingers into this jar to apply Waxelene to my lips – it is not hygenic!  Waxelene, if you could make a lip balm, that would be great!

Burt Bee’s Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream Review

As a Bzzagent, I had an opportunity to check out Burt Bee’s newest cream, Burt Bee’s Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream.

This nourishing day cream is clinically proven to moisturize sensitive skin all day without causing redness or irritation.

Product Details:

  • Cotton Extract to soften
  • Rice Extract to moisturize
  • Aloe to soothe
  • Fragrance Free, Allergy Tested, Hypo-Allergenic and Dermatologist tested

Approx. Price: $15
Where to Purchase? Mass market retailers (Target, CVS, etc.)

While I do love Burt Bee’s, the price point of this face cream is a bit steep.  Let’s see if it is worth it!

The Bottom Line

Burt Bee’s Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream is a lightweight cream that works!  Burt Bee’s Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream comes in a small pump dispenser.  Even though the dispenser looks small in size, but in fact this cream is pretty concentrated.  All you need is about one or maybe even two pumps to cover your entire face.

For reference, I have dry and sensitive skin.  I have been using this daily for one week and I have noticeably smoother and soften skin.  I didn’t experience any redness, irritation, or breakouts!  For those with sensitive or acne-prone skin, Burt Bee’s Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream is gentle and fragrance free.

Is Burt Bee’s Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream $15 price tag worth it? You betcha!  The only thing Burt Bee’s Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream is missing is SPF!  If SPF was included in this facial cream, it would put the icing on the cake!
